John 3:16 is the third essential passage on God’s Love. Jesus uses Agape – God’s chosen word for Love. Jesus is the way that God drew you to Himself.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Christians have been told that this passage is the Gospel (literally Good News) in a nutshell. Jesus, salvation, faith are all included.
The Real Good News is that God loves us so much.
The Gospels tells us about His death and resurrection. The Epistles tell us the reason why. Jesus suffered and died for our redemption. He rose again for our justification. He took away our sins by giving His life as punishment. He rose to make us right with God.
Why? Because He so Loved You then!
He so Loves you now! At a point of time in your life, God drew you to Himself. He opened your eyes to see and feel His Love when He connected Himself to you by faith. You love Him because He first Loved you!
That is really good news, isn’t it?
