Who is Afraid of Change?

Here is what I discovered since I began to teach about God’s Love, some ten years ago.

Change came.

The average person in the pew embraced the change God’s Love brought.

The pastors and staff had a hard time with the change as they began to recognize God’s Love.

That also was me.  There was so much stuff in the way.  Primarily it did not fit in to what I learned in school.

In reality, I was afraid to let the Holy Spirit change my heart with God’s Love.  I liked my love the way it was.  How wrong!

As I dug deeper into a study of Agape and God’s Love, that fear went away.  Embracing this forgotten teaching of Jesus brought a deep, lasting spiritual renewal and a far better love.

I have brought the teaching of God’s Love to my “interim” churches through the Agape Plan.  The people in the pew got it.  It took a while for the staff to get it.  But when they did, it completely changed them and the way they did ministry.

Now I understand 1 John 4:16-18:

  • “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him…
  • There is no fear in love (agape).
  • But perfect love ((agape) drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.
  • The one who fears is not made perfect in love (agape).”

The Agape Plan will help you and your Church to spiritual renewal.

Think of it as A Stewardship Plan for your Church’s Heart and Spiritual Renewal for your Church’s Soul!
